Linda McVeigh

Linda is a writer with considerable success in competitions, including first prize in the Charleston Small Wonder Short Story Festival slam (in 2007 and again in 2011), first prize in the Rainy Cities Short Stories prize in 2010, and first prize in the 2011 Asham Award, judged by Sarah Waters.  She also won the inaugural Brighton Prize in 2014. Her story ‘All Over the Place’ was published in ‘Something Was There’ (Virago, 2011) and ‘Back Seat’ was published as a single by Galley Beggar Press in 2017. She was Writer in Residence at the Jane Austen in Worthing Festival 2015 and is currently writing a novel.

She has been teaching on the University of Brighton’s 10-week creative writing short course for five years.
